We spent the last several days in Yakima watching the Prosser girls basketball team play in the state tournament.
The girls started off on fire. They won the first 2 games and looked great. But the 3rd and 4th games didn't go so well. It was a bummer way to end a great season but we are still so proud of them. They finished 6th in the state and with 4 of the starters returning next year, they are going to be a team to watch for the next few years.
The kids had a blast watching and can't wait to play basketball and be #23 (Helen's number). We love Helen, she is an unbelievable athlete but even more importantly a great, great kid. She is starter on the team and only a freshman so we are looking forward to watching her and supporting her for a while!
After the last game we waited (with everyone else!) to see the girls after they came out of the locker room. It was sad to see them come out so disappointed but they had a lot more to be proud of. One of Kristin's former students that is on the team came up to her and gave her a blanket that she and her mom made. It said Prosser Lady Mustang's #1 Fan. It was so sweet! Those girls mean so much to Kristin and she and Scott made almost every game (even the out of town ones during the regular season).
We spent the rest of our weekend recovering from the late nights at the Sun Dome and Kaitlyn came down with the flu. It has been the worst flu season and I'm so ready for spring. Today it was warmer out but the wind was blowing 200 mph. Oh wait, that is our spring :-) Ok so I'm ready for the windless sunny days!
