57 times and a good call...

We heard from the doctor's office yesterday and Trace's blood work all looked good, whew! But we kept a log yesterday of how many times he visited the restroom and couldn't believe it when he went to bed... FIFTY-SEVEN times. Yes that would be 57.... And all but 4 times he actually went pee. What the heck!!! As much as I don't want there to be anything wrong with him, I am ready to know what is causing this. So hopefully the ultra-sound on Tuesday morning will give us some insight to what is going on.

Today Rick said the morning was better but he has been back to regular visits all afternoon and this evening. Kristin's husband is racing tomorrow night and we are hoping to go watch but if he continues to be like this he and I will be staying home.

We are having a nice quiet evening in tonight. I worked all day and we were pretty busy. The morning was slow but it picked up in the afternoon so it went by quick. I'm so looking forward to 2 days off (again!!!!) We'll be busy on Monday with parade (and the carnival the kids saw when Rick accidently drove past it this morning, DANG IT!). It will be a fun day tough, Kaitlyn is very excited.

Survived!

Well Kaitlyn survived her first day of 2nd day and she loved it!! She came out of school yesterday and she was so excited and happy. She had her first homework assignment which was to find 5 things that describe her but have to fit into a brown lunch sack. We had fun finding her five things...a fruit snack wrapper (her favorite snack), a small pink furry bear (her favorite color), The Cat/The Dog (her favorite book from 1st grade), one of her go-kart driving glooves and a pic of her as Little Jr. Miss Prosser.

I had to take most of today off of work. We have a really unfortunate situation going on for our daycare and I ask for prayers for Jackie and her assistants. This has been going on for over a week and we were hoping it would have all been worked out by now but she is still unable to have kids. This daycare has been such a breath of fresh air for our kids and they have had the most amazing summer with her. But... Trace has had such a tough time with the adjustment. On top of all of that he has been sick and we are having to have tests run to figure out what is going on. We had a doctor's appointment today and they took 4 viles of blood!! He was so good, didn't even shed a tear. On Tuesday morning he has to go in for an ultra-sound. We are trying to get him all excited to have a 'special picture of his belly'. I am trying to get excited with the fact he has to fast for 4 hours before his 9:15 am appointment.

After we left the doctors we went to Liberty to help get Thursday packets ready to be sent out and for a meeting. Apparently she didn't like her lunch today and even took it to the office to ask if they would call me and tell me to please stop at McDonalds or Subway and bring her a lunch she would like. They told her that they couldn't do that (if they did it for her, they would have to do it for others and that could cause quite a problem and tie up a lot of phone lines). Her issue was with the chicken noodle soup... and boy did I hear about the 'stinking soup'. When I got home I had an e-mail from her teacher and this is how it closed: By the way, Kaitlyn hates soup. She was funny today. She did not want that soup for lunch. I told her to just eat the other stuff Mom packed. I e-mailed her back and told her, welcome to the drama that is my daughter :-) Oh and she lost her lunchbox... probably somewhere between the office and her classroom and I would suspect it was to the garbage can to get rid of the soup. We'll see if it turns out tomorrow but in the mean time she is brown-baggin it.

Trace got to go with Grammie for his back to school shopping trip tonight. Even though he is the last grandchild to start school, I think he emotional state got him moved up the list. Grammie took him for a haircut and a new outfit. He came home and told me he got a 'funkhawk' which was really a FO-HAWK. I won't write on here what his Auntie Amee and I translated funkhawk to but it wasn't HAWK.

Kaitlyn gets to be in the State's Day Parade in town on Monday. Rick and Sue made banners for the car last night... ok Sue made the banners and Rick helped her finish putting them together. She will be riding in a 1956 bright Red T-Bird. We are hoping to have a pretty quiet weekend besides that.

Well off to bed... gotta get some rest for a fun Friday!

2nd Grade or Bust!

We officially have a 2nd grader!! She has so nervous last night and of course could not sleep. She woke up in a great mood this morning. Rick called to wish her luck....

I made her pose out in the front like she has done every 1st day of school....

Kathie came and got Trace to take him to my parents for me. So Kaity and I got a nice quiet ride to school. I could tell she was a wreck. She was so quiet the entire time....

As soon as we pulled into the parking lot and parked the tears started rolling. I got out and hugged her and asked what was wrong. She told me that this will be the 1st year she won't have her friend Katy in her class. They were in K-4, K-5 and 1st grade with eachother.... she found out yesterday that Katy was not going to be in her class :-( So we walked to her line and she didn't want to talk to anyone. But then I saw Katy in her line and I said, Kaitlyn lets get your 1st day pic with Katy. So we walked over to Katy and she put all her stuff down and gave my Kaity a big hug. Well thats all she needed. The smile reappeared and the happy and excited girl returned!

So I snapped a few pics with her friends Hannah and Annika (Hannah is the blonde and Annika has the brown hair)...

Then the principal came out and did a prayer for a children (and the oodles of parents lined up all around) which fyi I think was for Jamie and I because we agreed to be co-room moms again when no one else signed up :-)...
All the teachers stand up front with signs so the kids know where to stand...
And then it was time to go and start her day...
I know this is going to be a great year for Kaitlyn!! How could it not be, her student class number is 16! She was soooo excited when she found that out. I can't wait until 3 when I get to hear all the details of her day :-)

Girls Afternoon Out...

Monday afternoon Kaity and I picked up Meredith and we headed out for a girl's afternoon to celebrate the return to school. We hit the mall and shopped til we dropped. Meredith and Kaity kept telling me their feet hurt... I didn't understand that, I thought that was always just the sign to head to the nearest shoe store for new shoes :-)

After shopping we went and got pedi's. It was such a fun afternoon/evening. The girls had so much fun together and they laughed and laughed. Back to school is here.... it was such a quick summer!

Camping at Sand Creek...

We packed up the motorhome (and the motorcycles, and a 4-wheeler, and the bikes in the trailer) last Thursday and headed up Chinook Pass to Sand Creek. This is where Rick and his mom go elk hunting every year. It is a dry camp and not a 'camp ground'. It was so pretty though. I have only been up there once but Kathie takes Kaity up every summer to camp. Kathie followed us up with her trailer also.

It was a slow go getting out of town. The top-notch 1989 John Deer Motorhome did not want to start up when Rick turned it off to get propane. Once he got it started I made him go to Napa and get a starter from his brother... the heck if I was going to get stranded up there on Sunday! So we finally rolled out of town at 12:45 on Thursday. When we got up to Sand Creek we were greeted with the crisp cold air of the mountains. It was late afternoon and there was a little rain, which was good because it knocked all the dust down, but it was cold. The bummer was that we weren't allowed to have camp fires. So we set up camp and got dinner cooking and spent the rest of the evening visiting and playing games in the motorhome. Friday morning we got up and guess what... it was still cold! No rain though and no wind. We made breakfast and headed out for a hike. Trace was not at all interested in maybe seeing a bear. He was flat freaked out at the thought. But we enjoyed a nice hike and got back to camp and unloaded the motorcycles and 4-wheeler. Trace's motorcycle had to have the training wheels taken off to get in the trailer so we decided to see how he did without them. He had no problem riding it but the boy does not pay attention to where he is going. He would look to the side and drive right into the trees. Probably not a good idea to learn how to ride sans-training wheels in the mountains. Rick put them back on and the kids took off around camp for an hour or so. Rick then took them up on the trails.
Saturday was another good hike with the kids and a great ride up to a clearing where we could see a beautiful MT. Rainer. I took a bunch of pics and the kids ran around and took a break after their long ride up. It was so warm up there and the sunshine was out, clear blue skies...just perfect! We rode back to camp and the kids quickly put on shorts and ran down the creek. It was all of about 10 minutes before Trace was down to his underwear and in the water. They played for hours soaking wet in the mud. We all sat down there watching and laughing at them.

Sunday morning we decided to take one more nice ride before picking up camp. Trace decided to ride with us on the 4-wheeler since his bike and trainingwheels wasn't the easiest thing to get around on. Kaitlyn had been doing so good with the trails. I could watch her without having a heart attack (which is not even close to being the case with T-man!). Well we came up on a huge mud puddle that took up the entire trail. We went through it and then Kaitlyn got in it but didn't realize that she was in 2nd gear, not 1st and killed it right in the middle. She was soaked, and crying. Rick told her she had to get off and push it out. She sat debating with him that it was in neutral and stuck. He in return debated with her it was in 1st gear and not stuck. This went on for a few minutes until he finally got off the 4-wheeler and went down and and told her (very calmly of course) to put the bike in neutral, get off of it and push it out. Low-and-behold she did the first 2 things (shifted, got off) and guess what...it pushed right out! She was not happy with her wet shoes and wet jeans. I told her she now had more power to ask for riding pants and boots.

We got back to camp and got everything loaded up. Just when we were about to shut the trailer door guess who pulled into camp... the Sheriff! He got off his bike and came over to chat. He asked Rick if he was familiar with the riding rules up there. Rick said this was his first time there to ride so he didn't know them all. Well apparently the 1st big no-no was 4-wheelers. WHOOPS!!! He really cool though and just said that if he would have caught us we would have had something to chat about but we needed to know for next time. He also wasn't real impressed that the kids bikes weren't licensed. Another big WHOOPS. The 4-wheeler was though!! He probably would have been REALLY ticked if he would have noticed Kathie's trailer wasn't either. But he just told us to enjoy our day and he took off riding. I'm going to go with that fact that he has about the coolest job ever, most guys dream job, and took pity on our not so smart move of not having a trail map with us. That and the John Deer, I'm telling ya, I'm sure he thought that this was just about as much fun as we could have :-) Before we left, the kids set off bottle rockets. They thought that was so fun...

We got home late afternoon on Sunday and get everything unpacked and started the laundry. I still am not done! We had such a great weekend, the perfect way to spend the last weekend before school starting!
