THE BEST SURPRISE EVER!

*****************200th POST*****************
In honor of this being my 200th post I magically worked it that our most exciting day's adventure would land on this post. Happy 200th to me and sorry for boring you all to death with my rambles!
Day 4 Magic Kingdom – WE DID IT! We were up and out of the hotel by 8:15 am and got to the park for the big opening. We were greeted by Mary Poppins who held the big count down. As we walked in there were cameras EVERY WHERE. Our plan had been to get right up to the train and head back to ToonTown. As we got up to the station Rick noticed a familiar face… Kelly Rippa! Did you know that the big Christmas parade that is shown on ABC on Christmas morning is not really on Christmas morning??? We didn’t until today! Regis and Kelly were there to serve as the hosts. The parade went on and on all morning (it takes many attempts).

Kaitlyn and I headed to the princess tent and she got to meet Aurora, Belle and Cinderella. Rick and Trace went and drove the cars and then hit Goofy’s roller coaster. We met back up and headed to Fantasy Land. Kaity went and saw MaryPoppins and Rick grabbed fast passes for Peter Pan’s flight. We then went through the Haunted House and got spooked by all the scary things in there. As we were leaving we noticed the last of the floats going through the circle in front of Cinderella’s Castle so we headed over to watch the end of the parade. We got to see Santa and his reindeer that ends the Christmas Day Parade. As we were walking out the kids stopped to trade pins with a Disney employee that was from Federal Way, WA. We told her we were from WA too and the kids picked the pins they wanted. She then leaned down and whispered in my ear that there was a special guest in the park that would be performing a concert on the stage between 2-4… guess who it was……YEP THAT WOULD BE MILEY CYRUS! We kept the news to ourselves and Rick and I decided Trace and I would run back to the hotel to get our sweatshirts for later and he and Kaity would stay to watch her. When he walked her to the stage and she saw Miss Hannah Montana up there she about died. She kept saying this was the best thing ever! Trace and I got back in time to watch her run through her song a few times. It was pretty cool to watch the rehearsal process and listen to them tell the audience when to scream and how to react. And that they would be doing one filming of the just the audience when just the music was playing and she wasn’t even singing (for the audience shots). So much you have no idea happens when you watch it all on TV. Kaity watched from Rick’s shoulders for about an hour and decided that she had heard the same song enough and that the rides were waiting.

We took another spin on Big Thunder Mountain and wandered back through Fantasy Land and decided to walk by the stage one more time. Billy Ray was rocking out this time and as we were walking over the bridge we noticed Disney Employees lined up every where and looked over to see Miley standing in the grass right next to us. She was doing interviews and posing for pics with Mickey and Mini. We were able to position ourselves on the back side of the bridge and were able to watch her for quite some time. Trace was just not as into it as the rest of us were (even Rick!). He finally stood up and started saying that he couldn’t see her. Well one of the Disney employees heard him so she came and grabbed both kids and walked them right up the fence where she was. Kaitlyn was in HEAVEN. She waved at the kids and we were probably about 25 ft from her. It was every young girls dream I’m sure.

We finished the day by watching the parade, going on Splash Mountain, watching the Spectroparade and then watching the fireworks at the castle. It was an awesome day!! These kids were so tired that when we got back to the hotel and Rick turned off the lights, they were both asleep literally within 2 minutes.

Okay I am totally teary eyed!!! What a FUN FILLED DAY! The final pics of the castle and fireworks gave me chills! I so love that part of the day at Disneyland/World!!!!!!! Reading your posts makes me want to get on and buy tickets RIGHT NOW!!! It is amazing how spending time at the Happiest Place on Earth makes you feel like a kid again AND forget about the rest of the world outside of the park! What a wonderful way to keep these memories for you and the kids for ever!!!!!

I'm with Amy. I absolutely loooove Disney. (I'm living vicariously through you right now. I've read this post twice already.) I turn 40 in a little over a year and still want to celebrate with the Disney folk. Heck with a party or Vegas, give me Mickey and a roller coaster;)
