Day 6 Hollywood Studios – Rick had a rough night last night so we got a bit of a late start again this morning. But we had a game plan that included watching the stunt show, riding the new Toy Story ride, going on the Hollywood Tower of Terror and having a character lunch with the Disney Playhouse characters.
So when we got to the park, around 11, we went straight to Toy Story. The wait time was 80 minutes. The park was also packed…the busiest of all the parks we had gone to yet. So we grabbed our fast passes, which weren’t good until 5:50 pm. We then wondered around, did a few of the show exhibits and then headed to our lunch reservation. Kaity was not at all interested in the Little Einstein’s or Jo-Jo, but Trace thought it was so cool. They would have the kids come up to the front of the restaurant to dance and play. It was great. The food wasn’t so hot, the worst of all of our stops.
When we got out of lunch we headed straight back to the thrill/stunt show. It did not disappoint. The driving was amazing the kids thought the stunts were just awesome. Rick was into trying to figure out how they got the cars to do some of the maneuvers they were doing. He guessed that the main car had 2 drivers, one in the front and one in the back. He was close…. They had 2 cars, one with the body mounted backwards. The show was fantastic.
We then continued hitting all the sights of the park. We journeyed over to the Tower of Terror. Kaitlyn was nervous the entire wait because she didn’t want to be scared. But we made her go on it. I was a nervous wreck also but Trace…well he told both of us to get over it. We jumped on the ‘elevator’ and traveled the 13 stories up while seeing ghosts from the twilight zone. And then it happened… we dropped….13 STORIES DOWN… not once, not twice but 3 times! It was great. Trace laughed the entire time and so did Kaity. He called that ride ‘snow bunnies’ because he thought the ghosts were snow people, haha.
We ended our day on Toy Story and let me just say, it was a great way to end things and worth the wait. It’s an interactive 3-D ride where you are playing a video game. Rick kicked our butts, shocker! It was a great ride for kids and kids at heart!
After we left the park we headed to the other Port Orleans hotel for dinner. Another fabulous meal!! We let the kids run around for a bit and headed back to our hotel for another nights rest.
